Default Schematic question

Is there a schematic/diagram that can show how stock harness is hooked up to my 4.8, 2004 Chevy Silverado? My motor is on my stand and my harness is mumbo jumbo! I have gotten some good advice so far from the board members, thx Dana

Another Question: since my LS1 motor-Harness-Trans-PCM came off same donor truck, could I purchase a complete dash, guage cluster and hook up everything to that and I could pretty much plug and go as long as I deleted the Vats? Am I correct or what am I missing? Thx Dana

little confused since you first start with a 4.8 engine, which i believe is an LR4.
The LS1 is the 5.7L 346 cubic inch, two different motors.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LS_bas...l-block_engine

If you are thinking of taking wiring harness and computers and clusters from a different motor and different year, you are assuming an awful lot will be the same. But basically yes if you have a 4.8L LR4 motor from a 2004 silverado then anything coming from same year and engine'd truck will work.
If you using something from a different engine then you take your chances.
The body control module (BCM) is the headache because once programmed they must use the same ignition key resistor, unless you buy a brand new unprogrammed BCM.
not sure if you could get a new matching ignition key from the dealer to an existing BCM, if you knew the key resistor value.

for your schematics you want the GM service manual for that year & model, $200 you get the books from www.helminc.com
There might be cheaper ways to get online only versions of this info but you would have to search, and i'd be weary for what is offered on ebay.

here's the link for 2004 chevy silverado, will most likely cover all GMC anc Chevy trucks with all engine combos for model year 2004 :

Hi 1FMF, advice info again, my source for deleting my PCM codes etc, for my swap he told me he usually leaves TWO Oxygen Sensors, Mass Airflow Sensor, and all the Sensors located ON the engine itself except Oil Level, Oil Pressure, and Evap Purge. He will delete anything I want but I don't want to delete something and be sorry later. I will be asking a few more questions later on but this one first, Thx as always Dana
