The LS1 is the 5.7L 346 cubic inch, two different motors.

If you are thinking of taking wiring harness and computers and clusters from a different motor and different year, you are assuming an awful lot will be the same. But basically yes if you have a 4.8L LR4 motor from a 2004 silverado then anything coming from same year and engine'd truck will work.
If you using something from a different engine then you take your chances.
The body control module (BCM) is the headache because once programmed they must use the same ignition key resistor, unless you buy a brand new unprogrammed BCM.
not sure if you could get a new matching ignition key from the dealer to an existing BCM, if you knew the key resistor value.
for your schematics you want the GM service manual for that year & model, $200 you get the books from www.helminc.com
There might be cheaper ways to get online only versions of this info but you would have to search, and i'd be weary for what is offered on ebay.
