I recently got a 99 z28 fourth gen camaro with an ls1. It has a magnaflow exhaust system on it but no headers. I was thinking that headers would make it have a nicer rumble. Living in ny I need to still have emissions legal or whatever. Any ideas on what brands and setups would be good for my car?

It depends what kind of test you get. LongTubes are not emissions legal, but you can tune out codes if it's just a scan, but even with an aftermarket cat you won't pass a sniffer or a visual.

I live in NY as well. They just do a OBDII scan and yes you can run long tube headers and still pass. I use to have Kooks long tubes with high flow catted y-pipe. I changed the set up to a true dual exhaust still using the Kooks long tubes and added their dual exhaust set up with high flow cats.
