A4 vs M6
Hey guys. Im in the market for another 4th Gen. what are yalls oppinions in a good H/C/I car being an A4 vs an M6? Around here A4s are a dime a dozen plus all the B4C cars for sale and seeing as how ive never been in a stalled A4 car with a cam I was wanting oppinons on which would be easier to street. Ill be driving interstate 50% of time along with the other 50% driving in these Western NC roads. Thanks for any input.
Well a good stalled auto will be faster down the quarter mile (not usually from a roll though) but a M6 is a lot more fun IMO. I have a HCI LQ9 6-speed with 4.10 gears, and while it's not as easy to manage as a A4 it has a better overall fun factor
Not mich track use if any. I agree m6s are fun but im looking at just the fact if being able to find a4 cars for 5-6K vs most m6 cars are 7500-8000. My biggeat would be the “Streetability” because im wanting to run either a Torquer V2 or one of WS6stores High Lift ASA cam. Really wanting that choppy idle and some play power. Im thinking LS6 intake with LS6/5.3 heads with full exhaust and the cams mentioned above.
I actually ran the PRC 5.3 heads with the Torquer V2 cam and LS6 intake on my old LS1 setup. It was a great combo with really good streeability. Nice choppy idle with a good overall power band

We typically don't welcome these A4 vs M6 threads here; this topic has been beat to death all over the internet, it's strictly opinion based and this debate usually devolves into a flame war with no tech content.
Ultimately, nobody can answer this for you, it's really all personal preference. Both can be good at any type of driving or racing, with a stock OR modified engine, but which is "better" is totally subjective. Even "fun" is subjective. Both have strengths and weaknesses in terms of parts and engineering, and both can be made equally streetable/unstreetable for a given setup - there is no free lunch so get what YOU prefer.
