Default 6.2 identification

Ok , guys newbie to the LS world here. I am looking at buying a 6.2 aluminum block motor. I have located what i am told is one from a 2007 cadillac escalade. Question is, how can i tell that it is a 6.2 and not a 4.8/5.3?

The back of the block should have a cast "6.2L" on it.

Thanks guys, any downfalls to the 6.2 versus the 6.0? Maybe cost of aftermarket parts? Availability of parts? ....

What car is this motor going into? The 6.0 is a genIII engine, the 6.2 is a genIV engine. From what I know the cam sensor and knock sensors are different/in different locations. If you are doing a custom build then make sure to use the appropriate wire harness for the engine you choose. The 6.2 is the superior engine in stock form, it has a larger displacement and uses the updated square port heads.
