Default Intake runner gunk?

After pulling my intake manifold to replace the gaskets, I found some fairly heavy sludge on my head intake runners. Do I leave it, or try to clean it out? I知 not looking to pull the heads off at this time.

Take a shop vac with a wedge attachment and try to suck as much of it up as possible. Be careful with any paper towel and running anything away.

Yep. I vacuumed everything out. It痴 the tar-like stuff I知 wondering what to do with. I知 inclined to leave it there for the time being.

Try some degreaser and a baby bottle brush to clean the runners out. You could also soak it in a rubber maid container with warm water and formula 88. Just be sure to stay away from solvent based cleaners and alcohol based cleaners. They do not do well with abs or plastics.

Easiest way to deal with it is after its running use CRC GDI intake cleaner through the throttle body. It will strip it clean like new. Follow the directions on the can, Its a spray cleaner you use with the engine running. When I did mine it was amazing how good it cleaned the intake and ports. Looks like new again and mine was baaaaaad.

Oh wait the actual intake, not the heads. Yes get a big plastic bin and soak it with water and a degreaser. Go get a long bristle toilet bowl cleaner brush and scrub the **** out of it.
