6000 vortec

Hi
How do you call a 6000 engine that came from a 2003 pick-up truck
and what is the difference between LS1,LS6 and 6000 engine

It is an LS1 based engine, but with an iron block instead of aluminum.

6.0 Liter, with a 4.00" bore diameter and 3.62" stroke

The LS1 is 5.7 Liter, with a 3.90" bore and 3.62" stroke

All the parts are interchangable. The heads on the 6.0L truck engine have LS6 intake/exhaust ports and flow well. They have larger combustion chambers than the LS6 heads however, resulting in lower compression ratio.
