Default Some mod help

2002 ws6. 58k on it. A4 with 3.23s. Only mods are magnaflow catback and slp lid. Koni sports and strano springs. I am looking at doing
A. Kooks headers with ory and tune.
B. Above with 3000 stall converter
C. The converter and a new rear, either 12bolt or Ford 9inch with 373 gears.

A convertor,Yank SS3600 or CircleD equivalent. The little GM 10 bolt holds up very well behind an automatic, even with a convertor. Anything less than those two convertors(such as 3200 or 3000) is a waste of money and leaving performance on the table. Also forget the gears for now,3.23s' are great with the proper convertor.

Everything posted by @FirstYrLS1Z above is excellent advice. I second all of it.

I wouldn't consider a new rear for a bolt-on A4 car, unless something is already terribly wrong with yours. Keep wheel hop at bay (good shocks which you already have, and perhaps a control arm upgrade) and you might be shocked at how much the stock 10-bolt can handle behind an auto:

Keep in mind, once you have a ~3500 stall speed in place the difference between 3.23 and 3.73 will be no more than one tenth of ET reduction at best with a 4L60E.

^^^ as above, suspension. The OEM rear lower control arms with rubber bushings replace with arms with poly bushings and add bolt-in relocation brackets. Tires are important too.
The beast will come alive with convertor, suspension, and tires.

those are a decent street non-drag radial tire. I've been running the 555s' for about 15 years. Looking forward to use the improved G2s' for their wet traction improvement.
