Default 1998 Trans Am

@Dewy8790 , Today 12:48 AM
Hi there, I'm looking at buying a 1998 Trans Am (Higher milage) and was wondering what to look for when buying it exactly. Here is the link to the car.

He said there are a few minor things wrong with it, the ONE THING I am.concerned about is he said their is a very tiny oil leak (said if it sits for about a week you can find a VERY small drop or two of oil on the ground). He said the engine work was done professionally from a shop (has receipts). Just wondering what your guys' thoughts are.

If this is posted in the wrong forum please let me know and where to post it (Im new here). Thanks in advance to those who reply!

It would help alot if you could be more spefic where the oil leak is, Front, Rear Mid engine? A few thing come to mind, Oil sending unit ( cracked or loose), front and rear crankshaft seal, If not installed and aligned correctlly they potentially can leak. Valve covers, not likely if installed correctly but still possible. Clean and wash the engine so you can take a better look at the origin of the leak. Good luck

ALL the gaskets crap out n leak......ask me how i know

not a deal breaker in my book

any 100k plus car will need all the usual wear items....belts....pulleys....tensioner .....alternator....water pump....hoses....PS pump....fluids changed ( all )

I dont shy away from a 100k car....that has been every one I have bought
