Default Help on next step

I have a 99 Camaro SS M6 vert with 67,000 miles. Last spring/summer I did 1 7/8 TSP long tubes and TSP catted Y going into the stock dual/dual. I also installed a Fast 92 intake with Nick Williams 92 TB, MSD wires, SLP lid and Frost mail order tune. Other than what I mentioned the car is stock other than a couple small UMI parts. I have a TSP 228/232 cam, oil pump, ls2 timing chain, and pushrods ready to be installed and tuned by a reputable sponsor on this site, which will be done soon and is the motivation for this post. I also have a Tick master, speed bleeder, and MGW shifter that I'll be installing before the cam and tune. I have the stock 3.42 gears and stock clutch. I've done a ton of research and can't find much for answers in regards to my next step. This is a 99% street car that I enjoy on date nights with my wife and local cruise nights but also might take a stab at the track at some point. I'm looking for suggestions for parts that wont break the bank and will compliment what I have started. Should I go with an UDP? I've read many mixed reviews. It seems it can help the car rev faster, but also has some electrical/charging down sides. Should I get/will I need injectors at my current level? I want to go into the cam install and dyno tune in the best shape I can to maximize what I can and not have to go back for a small tune down the road to iron out stuff I previously missed. I do have plans of either the TSP 225 as cast or 227 heads but that will probably have to be next spring, but we'll see. Should I be looking at a 85mm MAF sensor and FTP lid or is that overkill/wont gain me much at my level of power? I'm ultimately looking to build a fast street car that will keep me smiling and not a max effort track car.

Number 1 I’d look into a lighter and better clutch then a stock clutch. Not going to last long with more power and track use 2 you are going to need a rearend if taking it to the track 3 85mm maf and lid a are good option especially since you have the fast 92 now 4 underdrive pulley is not really worth it in my opinion at your power level and street use 5 I would wait to do the heads and cam together so you don’t have to send double the amount money. Put that extra money towards something like a clutch. 6 you are going to need injectors being head cam and intake. Look into 36-42lb injectors you should be good in that range. I hope this helps a little bit

Thank you for the reply, it definitely gives some guidance. As far as clutch goes would an LS7 be fine or would I be better off spending the money elsewhere? I think i'll save up for the heads and get it tuned once as you mentioned. For now i'll pick up the fast toys lid and 85mm maf so it'll be ready to throw on for the tune. Is there one brand that is better than others as far as injectors? In doing my research they range from about $350-$1200. If I went 42 lb rather than 36 would the tune take care of it if they are to big? Thanks again for the help, cheers!

As far as clutch goes I’d stay away from the ls7 far better and lighter clutches out there. That’s one place I would spend the one right and get a good clutch. I’m not a clutch expert but I’ve seen enough in my day with cheap clutches or GM clutches. For injectors I you could send out your injectors out to fic and they could make your factory injectors bigger. Cheaper and easier to tune. I think it’s a good plan staring off with the lid and 85mm maf. Be patient and do it right the first time. I’ve wasted enough money myself hate seeing other people make the mistakes I made

Perfect, thank you sir. I did see some posts about sending the injectors off to get rebuilt. i'll do some research and make a few calls on the clutch. I really appreciate the help. I really didn't have much intentions on going more than headers and intake since it's such a nice car. With that being said I found out last week im going to be having a child and will probably be keeping the ol girl forever so I might as well make it as enjoyable as possible!
