Backfiring

Backfiring Mine seems to backfire after sitting and idling for a longer period of time. Is this caused by a rich condition? Car is a 2000 trans am with 6 liter and long tube headers, egr and air delete with only front o2 sensors.

Back fire or after fire? (Backfire is out the intake, afterfire is out the exhaust.)
I've never noticed mine popping out of the exhaust from idling, but I know if I open the throttle hard and then suddenly close it, the changing in timing air flow to the cylinders ends up dumping some unburned fuel in to the hot exhaust and pow.
