Default Vibration

I recently bought a 2000 z28. It started clunking when going from reverse to drive. Mechanic told me it needed u joints so I paid him to install new ones. Now the car vibrates at 70mph+ or anytime the car is n drive. It doesn't vibrate in OD until 65 70 mph. Also it feels like a surge/slip at low rpm while accelerating. Anybody have a idea?

my car has always had some clunking when shifting from reverse to drive and vice versa. With that being said I can't tell how severe yours is. If you have a driveshaft that is out of balance that could 100% be your vibration issue. Did it do that prior to your u-joints?

It's a aluminum DS and no vibration prior to getting the u joints replaced. If it's out of balance do I drop the DS and spin it 180 and put it back in or do I need to take the DS to a shop and get it balanced?

You can try the 180 trick. I would also do some research on them being too tight as well. Resolved with a hammer.

Cool I'll check it out and I'll turn it 180 when I get home from work and see how it does. Thanks.
