Default Cutout

I had my cutout put on today. I had it put after the last cat before the muffler. Well, it's not that loud at all....actually I have been running it open all the time. In my old LT1 car I cut out the cat and put the c/o in its place and it was SUPER loud.

Anyhow, now to the point. Is it gonna hurt my car to just leave the cutout open all the time?

Thanks.

No it wont hurt your car to leave it open. Lots of people run around with their cut out open. If you like how it sounds open then leave it open. If not then cap it every once in a while.

Nothing wrong with an open cutout..

Dual cutouts in the y-pipe after longtube headers.... .... but only for short periods of time..

I left mine off for about 6 months, then caped it back off, and blew the inside of the muffler apart.... It apparently rusted, and the airflow broke off a plate inside the muffler. its no big deal, just put on a new muffler.

Run it open if you like it.
