Default Exhaust Help

Hello all. Have a stock very low mile ‘01 SOM WS6 that I’m going to start modifying. Already purchased Kooks 1 7/8 LT headers with Jet Hot coating.

Now finishing the exhaust is my dilemma. I want a good free flowing deep sounding exhaust (don’t care about how loud it is because its not a daily driver) Been doing a lot of reading on the forums but just can’t make up my mind. Would like to lower the car 1-1.25 inches too so…. Debating between Kooks or Speed Engineering true dual exhaust. Is Kooks worth 4x the price of Speed Engineering? Thoughts?

Or since I want to lower the car 1 -1.25 inches (BMR lowering springs) was also thinking of doing the Kooks ypipe with a Gmmg exhaust. Concern here is losing horsepower (compared to true duals) once i do heads/cam etc.

I want to purchase 1x only and do it right the first time, so any insight is appreciated!

Thanks!

I love my speed engineering headers. They are very high quality stainless with thick flanges and good welds. This is on a third gen LS swap.
IMO other brands of exhaust are not worth the price.
The headers do hang a little low but they have to as there is literally no room. I made my own y pipe.
A 3" single will flow plenty unless you have a very restrictive(OEM) muffler.

I have the Hooker Blackheart headers and dual exhaust under my 98 Z28, the fitting is perfect with lots of clearance on Eibach springs.

Are you running the Blackheart true dual exhaust as well? Or just the headers?

Both, Blackheart longtubes and the true dual exhaust.
