Default For LS2 experts

For LS2 experts—any concerns buying this vehicle at 150,000 miles for $13,000? Specifically, thoughts on the engine rebuild (no main caps pulled, no compression test), Stage 4 cam setup, and lack of transmission history besides a recent twin disc install? Any red flags with the engine? Car is with its second owner, who bought it in 2016 and drove it home from San Diego. It remained stock until last fall (2024) when the engine was rebuilt. The owner drove it 500 miles post-dyno, including highway at 170°, with no issues reported. Appreciate your insights! Seller states..LS2 pulled and resealed. Upgraded with a Stage 4 TSP cam (specific cam not mentioned), high-volume oil pump (Texas Speed), dual 660 lift springs, new valve seals, push rods, timing chain, and gears. Front and rear main plates replaced with OE parts, along with new spark plugs and wires. All gaskets and seals replaced, but main caps weren’t pulled, and no compression test was done (cam bearings looked fine, no pictures). Didn't feel a need to pull main caps as car had had no visible issues with oil quality during changes and ran great.

I wouldn't call it a rebuild as what you have there is nothing more than what most LS swap'ers have in their vehicle(including me) a junkyard LS. Nothing wrong with that at all. In my opinion it is probably over cammed and as far as the price for the vehicle...??? You didn't even mention what it is and give us pics. Really...

Everything about that is a red flag. Somebody says they pulled the entire motor just for a cam swap in a 150,000 mile car, then only drives it 500 miles before selling it. The cheap POS China intake is another bad sign. That being said, a 2005 or 2006 GTO for that price might not be a bad deal, or it could be a rolling nightmare. Since Holden and Pontiac are defunct, a lot of the vehicle specific parts are unobtanium, but good examples of those cars are holding value quite well.

Buying any used vehicle is a risk. It might be a trouble free vehicle or a money pit.
