StoneOfFire,
I got your post reply in the post reply e-mail, but don't see it up here...but in case you are wondering, for the A4, here are your 80mph rpms running a 275/40-17 tire:
3.23 = 2375 rpm
3.42 = 2500 rpm
3.73 = 2750 rpm
3.90 = 2875 rpm
4.11 = 3000 rpm

All calced at http://www.f-body.org/gears/

2) Eaton Posi vs Full Spool? I don't know what a full spool is.- a spool locks the two axles together. if your racing more than just driving, the spool is best. otherwise, get a posi unit

3) Upgrade to the 1350 series pinion yoke worth it? very much so

4) Does the standard chrome comers usually have drain plugs? Do I need to worry about changing fluid often in a 12 bolt? they all have some kind of plug but you should still get a rear end girdle for it- nah, i change mine once a year

5) It is worth upgrading to a TA Cover? look above- yes it is

6) Is it worth getting the 33 Spline posi/axles setup? very much so but 31's will be enough for a street strip car- i've seen them on 1000hp mustangs

7) This is for a daily driver, so would 3.73 gears be my best option? assuming your an M6- 4.30's would be the way to go. 160+ top speed still but have KILLER low end grunt. you'll put sticky tires back on in no time i'm sure

8) Will the shop need an installation kit for mounting up the sway bars, etc? it would help but all you really need is 3 inch exhaust clamps

you do not need relocation brackets. according to the ppl who have been into 4th gen f-bodies since 94, they are a gimmick ppl fall into and sponsors are able to make a quick buck off em

a good friend of mine has a set on his car and the results-

before relocation brackets-
1.5's
no bag
straight out of the hole

after brackets-
1.6's without bag
1.5's with bag
twists the car off the line (a caged/sfc car)

with 4.30's u'll be at about 2200rpm at 75.... FAR FAR FAR less still than any normal car on the road that will run down the highway at 3500rpm for a happy 200+ thousand miles

1) I went with Moser

2) I got the posi

3) I just have the regular yoke...I don't think that was an option on the Moser

4) Mine has a 'drain plug'. not sure on how often

5) I have the TA cover for more strength

6) I have the 33 spline axles...see #5

7) My 6 speed car loves the 3.73s

8) They'll need bigger U connectors for the sway bar and a different yoke for the driver shaft, other then that...no.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

1) I have a Moser 12 bolt, i dont know which one is better between the two but i always heard moser was. I dont think you would go wrong eitherway. But i love my moser. AWSOME customer service.

2) If you are going to drive your car around on the street go with eaton posi. Full spoon isnt to streetable, it sounds like its about to break when you turn corners, ect... Get a posi.

3) I went ahead and go tthe bigger 1350 yolk, why not?

4)the chrome covers dont come with drain plugs, i have it and it has held up great. I actually like it better then the t/a which is why i didnt get the t/a. The t/a has a drain plug (i think) and will make it stronger so it is better.

6) Yes, go on with the 33 splins and posi, some say its over kill to get the larger axles, but it didnt hurt my times and and youll need the stronger axles in the long run. Anytime you beed up the drivetrain you have sacrifice power. Dont worry about it.

7) get 3.73s!!!!! I got 3.42s and regret it, im actually about to swap to 3.73s sooner or later.

8) the stock rear sway bar wont fit on the 12 bolt, people use a BMR sway bar with some other minor stuff you need but im not sure what to get. jsut left my rear away bar off. less weight, lol. its a pretty easy installe though if you do it yourself. Just time consumeing.

is it true that they also chew up tires when cornering?
will daily driving / taking corners really damage a spool?
