Pro5.0 question

Pro5.0 question I have searched and searched and saw no mention of these two things,
1) Does anyone else have to shift hard into 2nd or else it will kick it out of gear?
2) I cut a small slit to get it around the base of the Pro5.0 what kind of sound am I hearing now? It almost sounds like fluidy or something but I am not losing fluids or anything.
Any info, thanks in advance!

hey bro, my buddy just put the pro 5.0 in his '01 WS6 and its also hard for him to put it in 2nd, if he lightly puts it in gear it will pop out just as you described.
Hes used to it now and it doesnt happen that often, but it still does it from time to time.

Thats no where near as scary as the sound lol, I was almost home after driving about 30 miles from a fellow ls1tech members house installing the pro50, and I turned the radio off and i was like oh #%@Q 
what is that sound! But maybe it's normal since i cut the boot... I just hope i ain't losing trans fluid. I just checked under my car and there was nothing but water from the AC, its been sitting about an hour. We were having problems getting his old tube of gasket maker to flow good lol, so some of it sat for about 3-5 minutes while we were getting hte rest on, but it seemed to seal good after we let it sit and the shifter was bolted snug for 30 minutes before i put the boot and stuff back on...

mine had the tendancy to occasionally pop out of second and grind before i correctly adjusted the stops. i forget the exact details, but the first time i adjusted the stops i think i adjusted the stops to 3rd and 4th, only to realize the other gears needed the stops backed out a tad to work properly.
also, the sound you might be hearing is the shifter resting against the stop, i adjusted mine so that the shifter in any gear doesnt rest against them while in that gear. its a noisy bitch when its against the stop.

Oh man I just realized I did the same thing! thats why the sound is bad in 1st 2nd because the stops are too close, and its really bad in 3 and 4th, but 5th 6th aint bad at all, that makes so much sense thanks alot!

right after i installed mine i put it all back together and took off down the street to test it out. only then, right in front of a bunch of people in an intersection did i learn that i didnt adjust the stops right. i'm sure some people got a laugh out of it, i ground it good and looked like a complete dumbass.
