rev limiter

rev limiter what kind of impact does hitting the rev limiter have on my car. It is a m6 02 ws6 and sometimes when I do a burnout or run to long in a gear it will it the limiter and I was wondering if I doing any damage or if its not that bad.

It is limited to 6200 for the rev limiter. Also, I would not worry about accelerating and going into the yellow. But, if you are parked and reving into the yellow and holding it then I would say 'yes' it can be detrimental.
also i noticed that the factory tach is always behind man so, i kinda started shifting when i go into the yellow cause i never know exactly where iam with the rpms. or you could just get a good aftermarchet tach.
