TONS of people on here are cam only cars and are kicking SERIOUS *** with their setups! reliability with heads and a cam wouldnt be much difference than just a cam, if you get the rest of your valve train setup right. i plan on doing a 231/237 cam in mine or maby a little smaller. do your hw on camshafts and read JRP's cam guide. if you check the internal engine forum, there are new cam results popping up left and right.
always go bigger than you want, cuz you will always want more.
the only thing to watch out for is your stock springs and retainers........ a nice 224 cam is a start, but you will definately need a tune (ls-1 edit) if you are an m6 you will be able to drive, but an automatic might give you more of a problem w/ idle and stalling.....

Look into a good cam kit sold by many sponcers------------------->
anything in the 222-230 duration .540-.590 lift 112-114 lsa will give you a huge jump in hp, will idle very well(with a good tune) , will have good street manners, and keep you ahead of most any car on the street.
