Unhappy Total Electrical Shutdown. Help.

This afternoon I was washing my car and then pulled it into the garage. 2 hours later, I went to start it up and nothing happened when I turned the key. I popped the hood, took a gander at the battery, jiggled the terminal connectors, turned the key again and the lights and clock came on for a second. So I turned the key all the way and it gave me that click like when your battery is dead. It is a brand new optima red top though so I doubt that, also this has happened before but never for this long. Please help me.

You might have left something on that drained the battery, did you try and recharge or jump start the battery to see if it will start up. I would try that before being concerned it is a more serious problem.
