Looking to buy a z28 There is a 2002 z28 6 speed with 44k miles..(leather seats, t-tops etc..) for sale at carmax for $18,500. I'm thinking this isnt a good deal but still wondering what everyone thinks. Is carmax even a good place to buy from? For the most part, is it true that they won't work with you on the price? Also, what kinds of things should I be looking for to see how the car was driven i.e. driven hard, street racing. It does have magnaflow exhaust and the tires dont look that bad, but is there nething else to look for? Thanks

I'll second that...I got my 2002 for $19.7K with just over 10k on it. If you end up driving it one of the things you'll want to check out is the clutch. Put it in fourth at about 20 and then hammer it; if it revs up really fast then the clutch is slipping which means it has seen a lot of abuse.

Yeah I would keep searching. If car max is anything like the a company called USA AUTO NATION I would not buy anything because they probably beat the hell out of the car. Just my .02 cents.
