Question Heads write-up

I've learned a ton about everything but heads....Is there a write up on heads anywhere? As of now all i know is that the heads on my ls1 say 241. What does this mean? Whats the next best thing ie whats the heiarchy of heads for the ls1. Thanks guys!

Awesome! thx for the link. So can you just take off stock heads and throw on ls6 heads (higher compression) and not worry about bending or tapping valves? If it seems like i have no idea what im talking about its because i don't. THX

Sort of. You would need to check a few things like pushrod length. You could also throw a set of AFR or some ported LS1/LS6 heads. Always double check the valvetrain geometry though.

basically if you have a cam with a <235 duration and <.600 lift you will USUALLY be ok with ls1, ls6, 5.3, and afr's...as long as they are not milled...the t-rex is currently the biggest cam i know of that you can put in a car with unmilled ls1/ls6/afr heads...specs are 242/248 - .608/.612 - 110 lsa
