Default New guy needs advice

Hi Guys. First post here. I am thinking about buying either an LT1 or LS1 Z28. How do each of these cars respond to mods? Is one better than the other? Of course an LT1 is less money, but I have the feeling the LS1 has much more potential. I really don't know much about these cars so any help is appreciated. My current toy is a 70 SS 396 4 speed chevelle with a 496 rat, so I am a little more familiar with "old school" cars. Thanks.

definitely LS1s. You would have to modify the LT1 to the tune of adding another 40 rwhp just to match a stock LS1. LS1s are also a TON easier to work on, and pick up far more substantial gains with the same mods.

Old school cars are actually more difficult to work on engine-wise, you will see.
