Question Front Body Panel Gap pic request.

I looked at a 01 SS that I am 99% I am going to purchase, just one thing caught my eye. When checking the body panel alignment on the nose of the car, I stood in front of one of the head lights, and looked straight down, and it seems the head lights of the car might be somewhat not in alignment with the front bumper. Both headlights seemed to have even spacing.... so I just wanted to know if someone can take a pic of the headlight / front bumper looking straight down at the gap and post it or email it to me at robert.mattison@charter.net

Thanks in advance.

If you jack these cars up in the wrong spot, it messes all kinds of things up. I wouldn't worry about it. You are always more aware of your cars flaws than others are.

Look under both front fenders of the car. Underneath there should be a "tab" that sticks straight down to connect the fender to the frame (very poor design). I would not be surprised if one or both of those is not crushed up under the car. I have had many people work on them, and worked on them myself. They are destroyed on about 90% of newer F-body cars I have seen, even sitting at reputable dealerships. It will knock your fenders out of alignment and cause gaps in the front.

Looks as tho its supposed to be that way, My car is still a baby IMO - not even 20 k miles yet and its a 99, I got her with just over 8K miles and no accidents or anything that would cause mis-alignment. Your good to go get yourself that SS

I have yet to see an LS1 Camaro where the headlights line up perfectly. They all seem to be off in someway or another.
