If you don't want to tear it apart to see what exactly is wrong and how bad it is, here's my solution:
Try to roast 'em from the stop, if you only leave one rubber strip, definitely get it fixed ASAP.
If you have equal traction/power on both sides (2 black strips after a burnout), I say ignore the noise like I did, get AAA membership, wait for it to go out with a bang on its own and save up for the new one meanwhile.
The only "permanent" fix is to get an aftermarket rear, that's going to run you in the neghborhood of 2000$. You can replace stock parts, going to be much cheaper (i think around $250 for parts) but less reliable in the long run.
Enjoy your ride, these cars can give most mustangs a bloody nose, all problems aside
