Default what to do next?

Well I just had an SLP loudmouth catback installed yesterday. I love the sound of this catback. And I have a blackwing lid and K&N filter. I can't decide if I want to do subframe connectors or replace the y pipe. Which one should I do next? also on the sfc's should I get tubular or box style? My car is lowered about 1.5" all the way around.

I would do the SFC's. The y-pipe would be a joke. It will be replaced if you ever plan on doing headers anyway.

I prefer the boxed because they are visible from the side view of the car. Some people like the tubular because they tuck up tighter. Both will reinforce the car considerably. Good Luck.

I say SFCs.

I prefer the boxed SFCs as well. Some of us like to see 'em, some like to hide 'em. Just a matter of preference. Either will do just fine, get whatever you like best.

i agree with everyone above. get the boxed SFC. they look nice. y-pipe waste of $200.00

I have LG tubular SFC and you can't even see them looking from a side veiw. The box style will hang lowwer. So I would not get them if your lowwered.
You'll be glad you got the tube style.

I am lowered and I have teh boxed SFC's. They are not the lowest part of the car by a long shot. Only about 1/2" hangs out beneath the under body seam. My car is black and my connectors are red. I like being able to see them.

The boxed is the way to go. When you buy some I strongly recommend the UMI boxed ones for 139.99. They have perfect welds and the fit perfect. Also the powdecoating on them is very thick.

You cant beat UMI prices or service.

Yeah man its the way to go. I can take pics if you want. The boxed ones also provide a nice flat and sturdy surface to jack the car up from. I put my jack under the sfc and jack one whole side of teh car up at a time. I used to jack the k member andthen the rear end to get the car up in the air but this is much easier.

The boxed ones are 2" square tubing. I also use a rag on the jack to keep from messing up the powedecoat.

Im sorry but my car is in the grass right now but you can still see how much ground clearance is. Ground clearance is simply not an issue at all with these UMI subframe connectors.

Definitely sub-frame connectors. You 'll love the way it rides after install. Should be welded in w/ the weight of the car on the wheels (suspension loaded ). I have Global West tubulars.

Get boxed SFCs first. I have the BMR boxed SFCs on my car, and they're great. You'll notice a difference in how the car rides and handles. Wait until you buy some longtube headers and get the y-pipe from the same manufacturer.

Subframes huh. Take a stroll over to the Handling and Braking section and read the threads about subframes doing next to nothing for our cars.

I had a 94 mustang gt convertible and I bought into the whole "get subs, theyll make the car feel stiffer...night and day difference" I didnt notice a thing after the installation.
