Default Cam Question

Hey guys. I'm new to this site and this is my first post so take it easy on me. I have a 98 TA and want what you'll think about cams. I would like to put a new cam in, but first I want to see what you guys would recommend. Its an automatic and bone stock. I don't intend on being on the track every day so I really don't want anything too aggressive.

do all the bolt on's first then look into a cam. its not worth it unless the cam can breath.

If you are driving an A4 you need to have an aftermarket Torqueconverter (atleast 3000 stall ) put in before you do a cam.

Thanks guys for the comments. Just purchased and installed pacesetter longtube headers. Did the work myself, took about 5 hours to install the headers. Took it to the muffler shop and got a set of true duals minus the cats for 275. So far 590 invested, but at the cost of my own knuckles. Now the the next step. Should I go with a cam or stall converter first?
