build? ok hers the thing im going to buy a ls1 for about 10k and now i need to decide if i want to make it a stock sounding or a loud in your face kind of thing
on one side i want to suprise people cause with my old car i loved to see people looks when they were beat by a car they never heard of
and on the other i want them to know its fast when they hear it idle and make them **** themselfs at wot
so help me decide

Go loud and mean, as I heard someone say at the track my first time I went with my TA, "I don't race F-bodies, they are unpredictable, you don't know if you are racing a stock F-body or a 700+ RWHP F-body!

loud and mean....another thing to think about is, if its loud as hell....ya miiiight scare off some of the stupid ricer honda's n what not that arent even worth the gas...on the other hand, loud draws more attention. all in what you like i guess, i just like it loud as hell

How much a sleeper is a 350 stock HP car?
Are you going to drive it alot if so keep it tame for your own sanity. If a toy make it loud if that's what you want.
You can make awesome power and not wake up the state too or you can it's up to you.

Loud!!!!!!!!! run straight headers!!!! j/k headers, ory, and a borla with the blockoff plate removed is really loud ...imho!! plus you can drown out any ***** 'stang that pulls up next to you and starts revving it up to 7k!!!

Most stock LS1s do not make quite that much power. Close, but not quite.
Most people believe that early model LS1 Z28s/Formulas only made the 305 hp GM rated them at. If you do some decent modifications you can easily make 400 rwhp. Take a look at my car through the "complete mod list" link in my sig. Notice that over 50% of respondants would guess it is a V6 while parked. If I had a sleeper exhaust I could have what most people think is a V6.....running 11's naturally aspirated.

There is more to power than the engine. The intake/exhaust on the Vette was a little bit better. Power outputs really were about the same, but most people would never believe that...
