Here in Texas it's super damn hot. My ac is on all the time. If i feel like rolling the windows down I do. Still keep the ac on. It's my money, and I'm not worried about burning a little more gas.

I leave windows dwon on back roads and around town, As soon as I'm on the highway they go (can't stand the road noise of other cars and semi's).

It's all A/C for me until probably Fall time. This 100*+ weather sucks. I did the no a/c thing back in my younger days so I got it out of my system. Having a shirt cling to your sweaty back when trying to pull it off is BS!

I believe if your going 40 or under, having the window down will reduce the temp inside the car. Anything above 40 you will start gettin the humid air and hot wind in your car. In other words, I use the a/ce above 40 if its 85 or hotter.

windows down 99% of the time. using AC with my lead foot = no gas mileage, like 13mpg lol.

why isn't this an option?

windows up, fan on, a/c off...

without the compressor running and the drain on the alternator making little difference I would think this is a good option too unless it's really humid and hot.

Too many factors to be true one way or the other.

It depeneds on the aerodynamics of the car, the speed you're going, the road conditions, the amount of power the car has, etc...

Either way it's not going to effect gas usage enough to not be comfortible while you drive. I'm gonna run my A/C regardless, if I get too cold then I'll leave the A/C on and crack the windows to let some of the cool air out. HA, that should be an option too.

Everyone should email mythbusters and request that they try again with an f-body.

Windows down because I like to hear the road. Windows up only when it's too humid to endure.

Honestly I think I get better gas mileage with the windows down, regardless of hiway or city driving.

I agree, it's got to be extremely negligible either way.

I NEVER use A/C. I feel bad having it weigh down the car but whenever i have passengers they ALWAYS look over at me with this questionative look of "can I turn the a/c ****?". Its pretty funny I almost always tell them its fine but when its just me DEFINITELY windows down and if at all possible t-tops off. GO SOUTH FLORIDA WEATHER!!!!
