Looking for an engine Hi everyone. I am looking for an engine to put in my 56 Chevy. I wanted to buy an engine/tranny combo with the computer. Is there any year or particular model to avoid, or one that I should look for? I probably will be looking for an LS-1, because that is the least expensive, right? Any LS1 is good, they're all the same basic motor. I'd get one out of a GTO or f-body since the Corvette has the transaxle thing going on...
Other than that, I mean go for it. the 2001-2002 cars had no EGR so it looks cleaner, and they were rated at more horsepower due to the LS6 intake manifold. Same goes with the '04 GTO.

I was looking to spend atound $3500, I have seen them go for that with a tranny and puter. I had seen a lot of them about a year ago on Ebay for that price, but there aren't any right now. I will keep looking! 
hey my buddy just boguth my engine and he's pulling his its comming out of a 99 trans-am WS6 it has i believe 90k on it runs fine im sure he could garentee that too he's looking to get around $2500 for it if interested PM me
