read end how can I check if I have stock gear in my 2000 camaro ss. I have only have the car for 3 month and i keep up with c5 zo6. Only mods to the car are cat back exaust,k&n fliter and a ported stock throttle body? The car is auto and when im doing 65mph my rpm are @2000.

put the car on jackstands and count how many times your driveshaft rotates for 1 complete turn of both rear wheels. That gives you the ratio, 3.42 to 1, etc..
1 rotation of the wheels, 3.42 driveshaft rotations = 3.42 gears
1 rotation of the wheels, 3.23 driveshaft rotations = 3.23 gears
If the car was stock when you bought it, just check the RPO codes on the door decal. 6-speed has 3.42 gears, Auto has 3.23 gears
3.42 6-speed is RPO code GU6
3.23 auto is RPO code GU5

My car came with 2.73 and has 3.42's now. You can also check the RPM against your actual MPH using a calculator like www.f-body.org/gears/
