glad to hear that. I've seen too many V8s get smacked around here. Now I still have some desire to buy a TA.

yep and that looks like the kind of thing that I'm looking for. I think that I might have to try and get a Trans Am.

here in the middle of fckn nowhere where i live, most popular car for kids my age's are m5's evo's and sti's, those 4wd jdm bangers a realy hard to deal with.. they go ridiculysli fast through the first gears that whe have to pull realy fast trhough the 2 and 3rd to get them.. my friends has an modded evo and my 6spd dosnt even compete to it.. rolling or from start, on the track i was a second behind them.. but with the same end speed

those Evos and STis are nothing to sneeze at. That SS of yours or the Trans Am I'm planning on buying will hunt them.

Okay, so I know a little bit about WRXs and STIs. With a full turboback exhaust, any decent tune, and good driving, your friend's STI should run mid-low 12s. Depending on how you guys race determines what mod path you should take. But no matter how you mod your car, AWD can always launch like a bat outta hell. Don't worry and take him on the high-end. But some good grip launches will help you catch up.
If you can, start from around 45mph. Any more and you are right at the end of 2nd, any less and you're in perfect boost land.

that's very true. But is the money well spent compared to stock AWD that just needs some better tires? Not in my opinion. I think wider stickier tires and wider rear wheels will give the best bang for the buck. to each his own.

I dunno, eh. I would much rather have a V8, there's nothing like that rumble. What kind of noise does an STi make?

Sti's sound really nice too. They have the rumble to it.

It's boxer engines. H4 turbo.

They are really fast. But Evo's are way faster than Sti's.

Notice that in my sig!

yeah, they dont sound bad (its the unequal length headers). But the rumble of a cammed V8 especially an LSx is something that makes my blood race.

its just a different sort of sound. H4's sound more like two V-twin Harley's than any V8s. Lot more popping and growling than smooth roaring, until you get on it. Check streetfire or youtube, its worth the few minutes.

i'm familiar with the sounds of Boxer engines. I live in Houston where the street racing scene is enormous and have seen plenty of them. I would just much rather have a V8, that way I get smooth power and don't have to wait for turbo spool.

H4s sound a bit like old VWs, without the unusual metallic sound.
