Intermediate Pipe Size?

Intermediate Pipe Size? Pretty new to LS1's. I plan in getting a cutout installed in the "I" pipe and was wondering what size the factory "I" pipe is. I figured it's 3 inch....just making sure. I tryed a search....either my computer goofed up or it doesn't work. Thanks Guys

well, i just did a search through google and it looks like alot of people are saying it's actually 2.75. I would think they could weld a 3 inch cutout in the I pipe with no problems. Plus, 2.75 cutouts aren't even available through summit.
3 in cutouts work great on stock piping. I had one on my LT1 and now have one on my LS1. It is pretty loud though. I could stand the noise on the LT1 but on the LS1 I really don't care for it. I must have gotten used to the Magnaflow catback that my LT1 had. I will be buying a catback pretty soon.
