Well I changed my thermostat last night so I lost most of my coolant. When I went to the autoparts store for new coolant they told me not to mix dex-cool if there had already been something else mixed in the system. I wasnt sure if the car had ever had the coolant changed in it before so I wasnt sure if it was Dex-cool or not already in the system.
So he pointed me to a coolant that he said will mix with anything. So I just filled up my system with that. Its green like typical anytifreeze, not red like dex-cool.
Is this ok? It says its safe for all makes and models but I have heard several people say not to run the green coolant
Any help would be good
Thanks

Gm puts in Dex-cool. It has a life span of 5 years, instead of the regular anti-freeze which lasts 3 years. I believe it voids the GM warranty if you put in anything else except dex-cool
