you can save money by getting used parts, but the only used part i would get is the cam cam pick a good used one up for around $150 as i did
if you get a cam with about .60x lift or under you can save even more money by only having to get "comp. 918" springs there under $200 i think and use stock retainers ect. and also just get a set of hardend pushrod and you will be set.. Is your cam stock? i wouldnt do cam first, get some headers, T.D.'s or cutout, intake... first so when you put the cam in you only have to tune it once and not 2 or 3 times
