Default need help on engine info

about 2 weeks ago i got a motor off a 2003 yukon and it says on the back of the block 4.8/5.3 does anyone know what size motor it is and if it is any good i want to stick it in my s10.

I think the basic yukon that year was the 5.3. My dad has an 02 and its a 5.3.

yeah alot did come out with that motor but i checked it out and that year they came with the 4.8 5.3 6.0.

I don't suppose you have access to the RPO list on that Yukon do you?

Chances are that if the Yukon had lots of options. (ie it was an LT or LS) then it has the 5.3. I had a base model Tahoe that had the 4.8. The 4.8 sounds better so if you have it that will be your consolation prize.

Yea could be either the 4.8 or the 5.3, check the heads and see, but either way you have a nice engine for your s-10 that can def handle some boost!
