Default Cam

I have an 02 Ws6 Trans am. 40k Miles on it no problems now or ever.

Only thing I have done to it is exhaust. Slp Loudmouth.

Want to get a Cam and eventually headers, will most likely get a Cam first. I have the Texas Speed Torquer v.2 Camshaft in mind. Im just looking for information about what I have to do if I want to get a cam. Can I install it and run normally? or do I have to upgrade any parts in the engine can my stock engine handle that or will it wear out quicker with stock parts. As by my name I really have no car knowledge what so ever. I try reading stuff but it just wont stick for me =(

You'll want to get better valve springs and some hardened push rods, a few of the sponsors have a valve spring kit (patriot golds are what I have) that includes everything you need then just order the pushrods. I got a good cam and some pushrods both barely used and bought the valve springs new to save some coin. Obviously you'll need some gaskets and then a tune once your done. I would go ahead and do the headers first as you will see a larger gain once the cam goes in plus you can get it tuned for both at the same time.

Alright thanks I see with some sites you can get packages that include what your talking about. Ill check into headers too. Right now with my income Id probably go with Pacesetter.

yeah just like everybody else said, do the headers, off road y pipe, and the rest of the bolt-ons. also is your car an A4 or M6? if its an auto you'll need a stall before getting a cam. if you just get a cam w/out any of the above stuff your car will run like crap and perform like ****. bolt-on cammed out cars are pretty stout!
