TechII says its missfiring like a SOB! I'm not gonna drive it anymore except to the exhaust shop. Once exhaust is on I'll see about the missfire, could be because of lack of backpressure ect.

it is is misfiring its not cause a lack of backpressure i dont think. it would more than likely be cause the O2's are getting jacked with readings cause there so close to the open air like stated earlier. just my guess. just mixing too much fuel and firing early thanks to the rich mixture cause the O2's are reading more air so its adding fuel. but i could be way wrong.

I drove open headers for a month and was fine just got tired of the sound after a while and the horrible smell of no cats. Cops don't like it so expect to get pulled over.

Explain to me how it's rice? I'm not understanding your logic..

Monster trucks have straight pipes, dune buggies have straight pipes, Air boats have straight pipes. I guess those are all "rice" right? Doesn't matter if its on the street or not.

Yes it does. Your not on a public road with a dune buggy, or a boat or a monster truck... so why have your STREET driven car with no exhuast?

I don't get where the word rice fits in with this topic.... Open headers seems more redneck to me than ricer.

**** i drove my car for probably a total of 10 miles with open headers, with no O2 sensors to get the crap burned out of the headers so i wouldn't destroy two new ACDelco O2 sensors and it was far far too long!!!

i was embarrassed how god awful loud it it was, at certain rpm's you couldn't even see through the rear-view mirror it shook so bad

i havn't a clue how any of you can stand doing it on the street, however the strip is another story

i did it one time to see what it sounded like and it was bad ace, lol, one problem with o2 sensors is if you do burn one and you start getting a missfire it is cuz of the readings, also you take the chance of messing up a coil pack, ive had my share of o2s, i got LT's with staight pipe, deleted my back sensors.

ive also heard that if you do run open adn no turn downs it can get extremly hot and catch the carpet in the car on fire? Now i didnt say this i was told this so dont rag on me just passing it on. i think you would have to run a long time to do this if it even could happen at all

i dont know what an ls1 with just LTs and open headers sound like... but if it is ANYTHING near a ls1 with cam LTs and open headers... you people that like it

it sounds like TOTAL ****!!!!!! if you think it sounds awesome go somewhere else.. yea its loud. thats it. does not sound good at all.. big difference between loud and good... i have TD one chamber race flowmasters and it is still VERY loud but not like open headers but it sounds SOOOOOOO much better... if you say no, please pull up next to me..

i had to drive a weekend with them... headache 24/7 and i wore cotten ***** cause it was so loud, if i took a 10 minute drive i had a headache and my ears were ringing like a bitch and i couldnt hear normal talking very well for about 15-20 minutes..

again this is with a 4k stall and an ms4, so i tmay be different but if its the same...

I don't get the whole front and rear 02 thing, there is a header on each side comming off each manifold, and 4 o2 senors 2 before the cat and 2 after correct? anything i'm missing here? And when you get headers there are stainless full race and ones with egr on them? Can I just delete the o2 codes from a tuner, can he delete the front and rear?

What else would the term "rice" reference other than as related to the import scene?
