Cut out ? Just want to make sure,, i've got a SS w/ stock 3in pipe, is the whole cut out 3in. or just the opening---> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&it em=220256012834> compared to the flowtech the summit cutout is much cheaper. is there a reason?

Stock I-pipe is 2.75, not 3 inch. a 3 inch cutout will weld up. Most aftermarket y pipes are merged into a 2.75 slip and the same with aftermarket catbacks. It is this way so you can interchange stock ypipe to aftermarket catback, aftermarket ypipe to stock catback and aftermarket to aftermarket. your stock exhaust is not 3.25 inch pipe!
But a good exhaust shop could fab up the pipe with a 3 bolt header flange to your stock setup. Then order an electric cutout plate. like the QTP, I had one on my GTP and on the 01 WS6. They are awesome.
