driver door interior light switch
driver door interior light switch The interior dome light does not come on when the door is opened and the radio does not go off after the car is turned off and door opened. I believe it is a problem with the switch on the driver door but I am not sure where it is located. I tried searching for info but found nothing related to this. Thanks for any help.
After some thorough searching, I found that the switch is built into the door latch/keyless entry mechanism in the door. The door has began to sag and evidently the strike plate broke part of the latch that locks the door and controls the interior light/radio. Lucky for me I had previously gutted a busted driver door and kept all the parts including the latch. I replaced the latch, shimmed the bottom door hinge, and everything is back to normal.
