Default lsx block

I'm thinking about useing one of these, and am wondering if with the extra weight of the iron lsx block. Would it be ideal to score LT1 front springs? I'd imagine the weight is closer to the LT1 than the LS1 with them being iron blocks with aluminium heads. Or am I over analyzeing this? The build is at least a year out. I'm just trying to decide what to do with my cash when I return from my deployment. So the idea is to comb over all the details and have a set plan so I have to do as little rework as possible.

Aftermarkets like Strano, BMR and some others are in the 550 range and way stiffer than LT springs if you don't mind going lower. What is the intent for the car. Softer springs will help with weight transfer and help your launch if it is a drag car. I have seen some iron LQ4's with V6 front springs that were all out drag cars

I'm using a LQ4 Block with my Stroker and I'm still using my LT1 front Springs from the Eiback Pro Kit that I bought a long time ago. I've had no problems at all, and it handles pretty damn good.

Yup.. LSX Block base price is 2K.
You can build a hell of an Engine out of it though, but you need to put atleast $600 into machining it. Then you need to find all Gen IV cover plates for it.

cool. Well, being that the car's an auto. I'm looking at setting it up as a bracket car. I figured the machineing on the lsx would be kinda pricey, but I'm not wanting to just throw it together on what I have the cash for at the time. I am planning on whichever engine I put together for the car to spend almost a year at my parents garage in AZ where things don't rust. Just want to do a good build and do it correct the first time.
