Anyone here ever try to install the Racetronix wiring harness without dropping the gas tank? I crated a trap door to replace the fuel pump and had hoped I find a good way to fish the harness from the bottom up, but no luck. It looks to me I'll have to at least drop the bolts from the tank straps to give myself a little space to work in. Anyway, if anyone has made it work without moving the tank, i'd like to know how.

 

i routed the wiring into the cabin and out one of the grommets. its not hte right way to do it, but it works for me and it was easy

 

I used the trap door to fish a "pull" wire down and tied the harness to it and then pulled it back up and connected everything. It was pretty tight but you shouldn't have to drop the tank or loosen anything to get it in.

 

Same here... coat hangers can work miracles.

From what I remember, I did mine without moving the tank. Just the trap door method was alright. I thought there was nothing complicated with the wires; wasnt it just doable by under the car?!

 

Trap door, loosen tank strap bolts and you'll have plenty of room between the tank and car body for te wiring.

 

well once I found a good path, the cable pulled very easy up to the tank without dropping the tank straps. I ran the wiring up about mid way and decided it was time for football watching. I'll finish tomorrow after work.
