Default Life with a 35lbs bottle.

Just like the title says Im think thinking of getting rid of the 10lbs bottle and upgrading to a 35lbs or even a 50lbs bottle. It will be in a truck so placement wont be a problem. I was thinking of filling it or keeping it at a steady pressure.

No, really, Im seriously asking. I have the room, and it would have a hell of an aww factor. But how practical is it. It would be a bitch to fill but last FOREVER. Anyone ever try it or hear of it being done?

If you do it, I want to see you use up all that space on the bottle with a big "NNNAAAAAAWWWWWZZZZZ - the Big One" lettering job

Yeah, I would think that would be shitload of weight to unecessarily (IMO) add to the car.

I have a 20# Aluminum C02 bottle Same as N20 bottle minus the tube. Has the same pressure disk and all as a nitrous bottle. Just needs to be mounted upsidedown. Ill trade you for your 10#.

wouldn't the weight negate most of the power gains of the nitrous?

The truck tips the scales right now at 4420 with me in it, in race trim. Closer to 5000 with the tool box, tools, bed mat, and all the toys. Add another 112 pounds with the girl friend (or would that fall in the 'toy' category) So weight is not much of an issue. how much would a full 35 lb bottle weigh. What 75lbs, maybe 100lbs. So what, put that N2O bottle next to a propane bottle (for the wet shot), and a CO2 bottle just because.

Is that 112 lbs clothed or naked?

You could just put a wig on that Giant Bottle and strap it into the passenger seat.

do they make a aluminum bottle that large? i would go with a couple of 20lb aluminum bottles, a steel bottle would be real heavy.

I remember when I was in high school some local tech school, I think UTI had a Chevy work van with a LT1 swapped in and a giant 50# nitrous bottle. He said it ran mid twelves with a small stall. The bottle weighed a ton it had to be mounted to a small roll cage to give it the proper angle.

My buddies uncle ran a 60# bottle in his Mustang. He just laid it in front of the back seat He was a weird one though!

Remember, weight reduction is free HP. Shaving 100 lbs off your truck could reduce your time by 1/10 a second. I am sure the Nitrous more than makes up for it, but weight does matter.

build mounts for the bottle over the rear axle, try to make up some weight for traction right there, just sucks that the bottle would be directlty in the middle of the bed. Sounds bad *** and i want to see pics if you do it. you could through some in of the girlfriend too. j/k
