ring gap?
I am going to re-ring my motor this winter and had a question about spray. I am using stock pistons. I know that with a stock motor, I would be wise to stay around a 100 shot. I asked a buddy if i gapped the new rings if I could do a 150 or a 200 shot with out worry about melting the stock pistons.
I have a heads and cam set up and I am also running on e85.
The car is a daily driver and I will be spraying on the weekends at the track.
Thanks

Even if you set the gap the rings for nitrous use theres still going to be a risk with a 200 hit on stock pistons. You can still do the 200 hit sort-of reliably, but the tune needs to dead on, I did it for 3 seasons.
If it's your daily and your worried about it, i would keep the hit down to 150.

I will only spray the car on the weekend and it won't be that many times.
Could I get away with a 150 shot on a okay tune (I say that cause I am not going to rely on a perfect tune) if I gap the rings for nitrous?
