Default Max Bottle pressure?

I am awaiting shipment on my HSW kit. (dry) I got the interface, microedge, purge, bottle heating element, and all the other goodies.

I am going to be spraying a 100 shot. Stock 28#ers and pump.

What should I keep my bottle pressure at for max efficiency? What is the highest it could effectively be? This will be my first time dealing with nitrous. (I know for a fact I have all the necessary safety precautions and right equip. etc.)

Ive got mine set for 1050 as well. Thats what the instructions said in my HSW kit, and I figure they know it better than I. I also bought thier heater kit, it says that if you use thier heater on their bottle that the temp sensor is pre set for 1050psi. Double check this before you use it. I found out mine was only heating up to about 900 or so. Its easy to adjust. Just sit there with the bottle while its heating up and make sure the relay dosent click off till it hits the 1050 mark. mine takes about 15 mins or so, coming up from about 700 psi at room temp.

What would happen if the element was accidentally left on? How high would a filled 10lb bottle get?

depends on if you have a pressure shutoff switch on the bottle, and what type of heater, in theory it could get hot enough to pop the blow off valve, 1000-1100 is the recommend pressure from most manufacturers so i'd try to get it there. I use nano so mine takes ~1 sec to get to 1050, lol. Any more that 12-1300 and the noids may not want to open, ask ruckuss how much it sucks in 110* heat in your helmet and jacket in the staging lanes trying to wrench on your lines and bleed out 1/2 your damn tank so you can get the pressure low enough to actually be able to spray, lol

it was like 1290 but close enough...I heard it make the life of the noid shorten so i never did it again with that much pressure I tried to keep it at about 1100 or so

Jet it per mfg recommendations. I like 950...you're away from phase change with a nice density value...also won't see as large of a pressure drop on the initial hit. If you move around pressure wise, verify a/f is good.

Have tried my system from 850 to 1200 psi found the best tuning and repeatable ets came from 950 to 1000 psi my nos brand pro n2o solenoid would not open at anything at or over 1200 psi.

Talk to any outlaw 10.5 guy that runs dope. Hell ask Musi they will tell you 900 is the most stable pressure. You can run it up to more but it will be back to 900 to 950 by the end of the run. If you are useing a small shot the pressure may not fall as much but you will still have to put heat in it. why not keep the presure down and pill it the power you want. Low pressure is way better on the noids. Just my 2 cents O i purchased my first NOS Cheater kit in 89 I sprayed 250 plus back then with a stick in a 70 chevelle ss.

I have heard of guys using 1250 or more and the noids get stuck open. Or damage them. How great would that be stuck open have you shut down spraying a 200 shot in an idling motor. Plus if you have it at 1200 to 1400 your intial hit will be good. But half way down the track its going to fall off hard. my 2 cents

I keep my '01 with the HSW plate at 950 psi and my '70 with a NX plate & NANO setup at 1050 psi due to the NANO system. I will eventually be changing the '01 to a NANO system and will bump up to 1050 psi and re-jet accordingly.
