Timing Tuner
The best options available that pull timing in a reliable method are the following.
Timing tunner- This unit features activation delay, timing retard, and activation controls based on RPM (programmable window switch) for nitrous oxide systems
MSD Timing Twister-Advance the ignition timing up to 9 degrees. Select a step retard up to 18 degrees for nitrous use. Twist in a boost retard from .1 to 1.9 degrees per pound of boost.
Lingerfelter-LNC-002 can be used to provide consistent launch rpm off the line in drag racing and standing start road racing applications.
The LNC-002 can also be used as an adjustable individual cylinder rpm limiter, providing reliable and fast acting spark based engine rpm limit control.
With the Timing Retard function, the LNC-002 can now also be used to retard timing by up to 15 degrees.
The LNC-002 is designed for use on all GM LS series engine applications LS1, LS6, LS2, LS3, LS7, LQ4 and other Gen III and IV GM V8 applications

I think that even if I find that single message, it won't help you very much more than a simple description. The modification wasn't elegant nor was it a thread starter, just one added post. I'm sure anyone with medium mechanical aptitude could produce something similar.
If you pull your shifter boot up and can see your shifter base you will likely see a way of doing it. From memory, it was a single wire that completed the nitrous ground circuit or kept it open through a mechanical micro switch. These readily available WOT switches are used with lower cost kits that are normally mounted to the throttle body linkage or even inside the car at the gas pedal. In this case it was fastened to the transmission / shifter mount in such a way that the circuit was held open until the shifter was moved from the first gear position. I wish I had more time, I would make it a project and rig something up so I could post a picture or two. It would make for some fun fabrication.
Thanks Dave, and 01z28m6. Your knowledge is appreciated. Im gonna have to do some research to see if i can find a thread like that. Cause i know for myself im not to good with wiring and probably don't want to mess with it. But i already got this timing tuner ordered. So theres no turning back now. Just need to find a way lock out the first gear so i don't spray out of the hole. I have a bad time with traction as it is
