Re: would it be illegal? Well, you would quickly cook it above 100 degrees ambient and rising, the pressure would eventually keep climbing and the blow off valve would let loose. So no it wouldn't necessarily be illegal, but it wouldn't be too smart either.

no really, dont do it. when my pressure goes down to low i have removed the bottle from the trunk and placed it on the motor while i was waiting in line for the next run. this is safe since it is only 10-15 minutes and i only do it to get an extra run on the bottle. but having it there all day on a full bottle, you are going to have problems.
