Default What Stall Do You Run?

Im looking for some input from you guys that spray your cars. From what I've read, cars on spray like a tighter converter...so I would like to know what most of you guys are running that spray consistently and what your other mods are. Bolt Ons? Cam Only? H/C? I've run 3600s and 4000s..but Im wondering should I go tighter planning to spray 150-200hp on a smaller cam. Thanks..

Tighter doesn't always mean less stall speed.

True....So what would you suggest? Still a decent size stall but a tight str?

Greg at FTI build my stall around my future plans for nitrous. It drives very nice and tight and stalls at 4000 NA. Should stall to about 4700-5000 on the juice. I'm still getting the parts together, so I won't know for sure for a few months.

Most seem to go with Yanks SS3600-4000 or Circle D's 3c-4c

SS3600 on my LT1. Since I keep the rpms down a little I'm maxed out at the finish line when running the nitrous.

I used a Fuddle 4000 nitrous converter with a 2:1 stall ratio. I sprayed 250hp for a complete season and it never missed a beat. It was actually a very tight converter on the street.

A good convertor company will give you a sheet to fill out with everything and they will build what you need. there is more to it than stall speed. Not all companies are created equal. We have a few we love and a few i wouldn't use for free

Like shiznity said. You can send over specific build info to the right convertor company and they can build a convertor to produce the exact stall needed to fit your application..

If you are shooting for an off the shelf convertor like most street cars are I would shoot for 3600.

No need for the PM.

I had 1 that killed 2 4l60's then i figured lets do a th400 . They upgraded mine to a 400 and it tore my 400 up. had a local guy cut the convertor apart and said it was the problem. He fixed it and i never tore up another tranny. I have used the others and the experiance was based on customer service and or performance.
