What does it take to deal nitrous?
I've Had it!!
There is only one store in my area that will refill nitrous bottles... and they are ran by a bunch of jack asses. They dont know when they will get more in (ever). They dont fill bottles all the way. And they are now over 5 dollars a pound...
There are many welding supply stores that have n2o but none of them are willing to fill up an automotive n2o bottle...
I was wondering what it would take legal wise to set up my own filling station in my garage for my own personal use?? I can lease a bottle from Airgas no problem and set up the scales similar to a propane filling station.... no problem, I've been looking at the kits already, but would I need a permit you think to do that... I have no intentions on selling it at all....
thanks guys
Location: New Mexico BTW if that matters
and the word "Deal" in the thread title should be replaced with "fill your own" *******

I filled last year with a $30 digital bathroom scale. Not the best, but it worked. Also NX sells a pretty simple fill kit for fairly cheap. Just throw the N2O bottle in the freezer and be careful because it will overfill.
I don't think you would need any type of permit to store the gas.

If you're not selling it, you shouldn't have any problems. In fact even if you were, I don't think it's that big of a deal. As long as you can get the bottle, you should be fine.
I use this to fill:
