Default 150 shot and gears?

What would be a better gear to have with 150 shot? 273 or 373? Car is an A4 and is mainly stock.....Thanks in advance......I want the cars setup to be for the 1/4 mile

I had 3.73s and was running out of gear at around 120mph. (bolt-ons and 100 shot)

When I installed a Moser 9", I changed to 3.50 gears.

Using a 26" tall tire...

So, my suggestion is 3.42s in a 10 bolt, or 3.50/.55s if you got an aftermarket rearend.
Or get bigger tires.

But on a 125 shot and 3.50 gears, it still gets out of the hole quick enough...mid 1.4 60fts.

i use to be a M6 but i ran 4.10 in my moser 9" with 27" tires and hit the 1/4 at 132 mph at 6400 in 4th gear. remember 4th gear in M6 or A4 is still 1 to 1. what size tire are you running, it makes a big difference. I use to run 4.56 gears on 27" tires all motor and ran out at 117 mph in 4th.

No, that is not true.

3rd gear is 1:1 in autos.

That's why we don't shift into overdrive when racing (unless the trans is built for that, maybe?)

Same stall I'm running.

Refer to my original post. It depends on if you want to run a 26 or 28" tall tire. Also, where you will be shifting at....my motor is stock so I shift at 6100.

Given just those two choices, the 2.73:1 ratio would be much better when using the N2O.
