No more Torco for me!! Since the heads have been on, my care has gone from a street car to a more race oriented car. I had no real idea the effect torco had on things. Everything is orange. Here are a couple pics. the head has been on the bench for about 18 hours, so everything should be somewhat dry. Can someone tell me WTF is up with the bottom of the combustion chambers.

thats weird, like was said earlier it could have something to do with the additive and the color thats created due to the chemical reaction between the fuel,additive and spark. just a guess. ive used it before but ive never torn heads off to view the combustion chamber after using it either.

It seems to clean up fairly well with a little MEK. Also, the stuff at the bottom of the combustion chamber is definately some oily gunk. Any thoughts?

Hard to tell but the black almost looks like soft carbon deposits, there is a name for it but I'm drawing a blank. I have no idea why it would be only in that spot though, and I have never seen it form inside the combustion chamber.
You sure it's not coolant that soaked in to the deposits already in there when you removed the heads?

It was definately like grease--oil based. It cleans right off too. I was kind of thinking the coolant thing too, but #5 had no stuff at the bottom. I looked over the pistons, and there aren't any signs of cracked/broken ringlands. I'm going to pull the other side and see what it looks like.

Wih a big cam I always had oil in the intake until I put the vacume pump on it.
Oil in the chamber will cause detonation.
check your fuel filter and lines also bet they are red and possibely clogged. I know a lot of Mustang guys that used that stuff until they had nothing but issues rust color clogged fuel filters and spark issues

I can see what you're saying on the resealing. The thing did fine on motor, and wouldn't push a drop of water. I'm just happy I pulled them before the season started. That would have made for a shitty weekend.
from what i have been told by local guys who use that stuff religiously its fine, that rust color is more of a coating to resist hot spots and detonation. i run that stuff every so often, and have not had a problem, besides brown exhaust tips and plugs,
sorry, let me reprhase my words, the brown color is whats left from the acclerent used to resist detonation, it wont harm anything and will go away after a few tanks of regular race fuel or 91.
